Bon Savor
Although new to Jamaica Plain's vibrant dining scene, Bon Savor has quickly established itself as one of the neighborhood’s favorite restaurants. The warm, welcoming atmosphere is a reflection of owners, Oleg Konovalov and Ibonne Zabala who set out to establish a French bistro, but one that matched the eclectic temperament of the JP community.
As you step in, it feels as if you are entering a cozy Parisian bistro, leaving behind all the noise and traffic of Centre Street. The work of local artists adorns the cinnamon-colored walls, and Bossa Nova plays on the stereo, and the aroma of Colombian coffee wafts in the air.
The ambience may draw you in the first time, but the food is what will bring you back again and again. For dinner, you can start with cilantro and garlic escargot or a goat cheese salad on top of a bed of fresh spinach. Moving on to the main course, enjoy a salmon filet cooked to perfection, served with salsa verde or a succulent filet mignon with whole peppercorn gravy. The weekend brunch menu draws a large crowd as well, and features favorites such as eggs benedict served with ham, asparagus or smoked salmon and a Mediterranean omelet stuffed with black olives, fresh tomatoes, capers and feta cheese. At every meal, you must order a crepe - Bon Savor's signature dish - as an appetizer, main dish, or for dessert. They are made with an old family recipe handed down from Oleg's grandmother and are filled with everything from warm bananas and cream to smoked salmon to spinach in a parmesan sauce.
At Bon Savor, eating is not just dining out, but also a full sensory experience. Come and discover this neighborhood jewel for yourself.
